The Morrígu really, really needs to learn better timing. Coitus interuptus will certainly get my attention, but it's not the kind of attention that most people want from me. To say that I'm cranky and unreasonable at such times would be the understatement of the modern age. Of course, telling the Morrígu to go fuck herself so that I could resume fucking my mate wasn't an option. Well, not a good option, anyway. I may not be daer fuidhir any more but She still won't hesitate to put Her boot on my neck if She feels the need to.
The fact that They were One -- Babh, Macha, and Nemain meshed into a single unit -- let me know that something was up. Once I realized the Awful Troof about the nature of the Being(s) that I serve They began dealing with me mostly individually. The combined Morrígu means business. So I quit seething, made proper obeisance, and paid attention.
I have acquaintances who have gotten ordained by the Universal Life Church in order to be eligible to perform weddings and other rites for their friends. I've been urged to do this as well, since I am not and never will be eligible for the title of Wiccan clergy. (I was never properly trained or initiated, and now I'm not even Wiccan.) I always objected to this, on the grounds that I didn't feel right about it. Yes, it's quite legal to do so and it would be nice to be able to perform weddings, memorials, etc. But I just couldn't bring myself to do it.
Tonight I was informed that, by Imbolc of 2011, I will get this ordination, after She initiates me with Her own hand. In the meantime I'm to study, practice and train. There will be tests along the way.
I'm both excited and terrified.

The Native American Code of Ethics
I don't have any idea how "authentic" this is. I like it, but is this how all Native Americans strive to live or is it a (probably modern) ideal? Does it matter, in the long run?
This was taken from the official website of the Echota Cherokee Wolf Clan. (Warning: Music playing.)
------------------------------
1) Rise with the Sun to pray. Pray alone. Pray often. The Great Spirit will listen, if you only speak.
2) Be tolerant of those who are lost on their path. Ignorance, conceit, anger, jealousy and greed stem from a lost soul. Pray that they will find guidance.
3) Search for yourself, by yourself. Do not allow others to make your path for you. It is your road, and yours alone. Others may walk it with you, but no one can walk it for you.
4) Treat the guest in your home with much consideration. Serve the best food, give them the best bed and treat them with respect and honor.
5) Do not take what is not yours whether from a person, a community, the wilderness or from a culture. It was not earned nor given. It is not yours.
6) Respect all things that are placed upon mother earth-- whether it be plant, animal, mineral, water, land, or human.
7) Honor other people's thoughts, wishes and words. Never interrupt another or mock or rudely mimic them. Allow each person the right to personal expression.
8) Never speak of others in a bad way. The negative energy that you put out into the universe will multiply when it returns to you.
9) All persons make mistakes. And all mistakes can be forgiven.
10) Bad thought cause illness of the mind, body, and spirit. Practice optimism.
11) Nature is not FOR us, it is a PART of us. We are one large family.
12) Children are the seeds of our future. Plant love in their hearts and water them with wisdom and life's lessons. When they are grown, give them space to grow.
13) Avoid hurting the hearts of others. The poison of your pain will return to you.
14) Be truthful at all times. Honesty is the test of ones will within this universe.
15) Keep yourself balanced. Your Mental self, Spiritual self, Emotional self, and Physical self - all need to be strong, pure and healthy. Work out the body to strenghten the mind. Grow rich in spirit to cure emotional ails.
16) Make conscious desisions as to who you will be and how you will react. Be responsible for your own actions.
17) Respect the privacy and personal space of others. Do not touch the personal property of others - expecially sacred and religious objects. This is forbidden.
18) Be true to yourself first. You cannot nurture and help others if you cannot nurture and help yourself first.
19) Respect others religious beliefs. Do not force your belief on others.
20) Share your good fortune with others. Participate in charity.

Blessed Yule
Obviously I'm just getting set up. I'm a long-time Livejournal aficionado. Blogger is an entirely new ball of wax to me!
I can't get my picture to show up. (Ha! Got it!)
I've said before that I don't like Blogger. And I didn't, back when I tried it out a couple years or so ago give or take. But obviously there's been a few changes since then. This isn't so bad.
One of the things that I like about Blogger now is it's minimalism. I get sidetracked on LJ. I collect icons --hundreds of them, all neatly labeled and categorized in a Photobucket account. I enjoy switching my design out at least once a week. I do seasonal layouts. I do themes. I get quirky and whimsical. I get... distracted. (I don't have ADHD, I swear!) With Blogger I figured I would be able to focus more on what I'm reading and saying than how pretty my Blog is. Then, totally by accident, I stumbled upon how to add customized backgrounds and themes. My reaction was a train wreck of *squee!* and *facepalm!*
It is significant that I chose Yuletide to start afresh, to shake things up and change things around, to look at things from a new angle. To me this is a liminal time, a time that is not a time, when the world is poised between the old year and the new. This is a time for contemplation and re-evaluation.
For me, especially, this is a time of re-evaluation. I've been a pagan for the last decade, having self-dedicated on February 2, 1999. Now I feel as though I have come full circle in many ways. I feel as though I'm starting on a new leg of my journey, so new that I'm once again in Beginner's Mind, open and curious and excited.
Thank you for allowing me to share this journey with you.
